This war memorial can be found in a park on the west side of the city, at Holbrook and Dr. Martin Luther King Ave. On the granite monument is written:

The 1244 Ill. National Guard Transport Unit
Who served in the
Persian Gulf War
Aug 2, 1990- Feb 28, 1991
On each of the markers in front of the monument are the names of those who served in the war. While these look very much like typical modern cemetery monuments and headstones, this is not a cemetery.
