During my May 2008 visit, the mausoleum's doors were locked, and only a small
portion of the interior could be seen. The interior walls are of white marble,
and numerous flowerpots stand on the ledges between crypts. A portable scaffolding
unit had been left in front of the gold and white stained-glass window on the west
wall of the building. As this was early evening, the sun was in the western sky,
lighting the mausoleum from behind.
