GRAVEYARDS of ILLINOIS
Springfield: Oak Ridge

Springfield's OAK RIDGE Cemetery is the second most visited cemetery in the United States, surpassed only by Arlington National Cemetery. This is for one reason: it contains the tomb of our most revered president, Abraham Lincoln. Yet Oak Ridge contains several other historical figures, including five governors of Illinois. Its hilly terrain makes it an exceptionally beautiful cemetery.

Oak Ridge Cemetery was added to graveyards.com as the first "Graveyards of Illinois" site on April 14th, 2004, the 139th anniversary of the assassination of President Lincoln.
