Looking closer at the top of the old vault, one sees a "green man" - a human face
from which vegetation grows, a popular symbol from mediaeval cathedrals. The
date "A.D. 1887" appears on either side of the foliate head.
Behind the bushes, one may see the top few inches
of the doorway, now bricked up and buried; and behind the facade, a mound of
earth covers the roof of the structure.
