ABRAHAM LINCOLN - President of the United States
 

The corridors lead to a "D"-shaped chamber in the rear. In the round part is the sarcophagus of the President; along the straight wall, towards the center of the tomb, are the crypts of Mr. Lincoln's wife and three of their sons.

Edward "Eddie" Baker Lincoln
1846-1850

William "Willie" Wallace Lincoln
1850-1862

"Willie" Lincoln died during his father's presidency. The Lincolns stored his body in a temporary vault in Washington, intending to take him back to Springfield with them after the President's retirement. When President Lincoln was murdered on April 15th, 1865, the funeral train carried both coffins to Springfield together.
