Ralph Tyler Smith was appointed Senator upon the death of Senator Everett McKinley Dirksen. He is entombed within the Sunset Memorial Mausoleum in Edwardsville, Illinois. During my visit to the mausoleum, I did not locate the Senator's crypt.
