In his book Chicago's Street Guide to the Supernatural, Richard Crowe describes an event that occurred at White Cemetery in the mid-1980s.
Some high school students were cruising along the deserted Cuba Road in the dead of night. They passed the cemetery repeatedly, about eight times, and noticed that the gate seemed to be in a different position each time they passed.
The teenagers stopped to investigate, but as they pulled over they saw another car approaching rapidly in the distance. The driver, seeing the other car in his rear view mirror, waited by the cemetery gate to allow it to pass... but when he glanced away, and then looked in the mirror again, the car was gone. It had seemed only fifty feet away when it vanished.
