The Spirit of Commerce: Forest Home Cemetery
The Spirit of Commerce

On the south side of Grunow's mausoleum is a statue of a god. He wears a winged cap; there are wings on his feet and on the snake-entwined staff he carries, the caduceus.

He is Hermes, also called Mercury, whose diverse portfolio includes commerce, travel, and literature. He is the messenger of the gods.

At the base of the statue are the words THE SPIRIT OF COMMERCE.
