Senator John M. Robinson
When I visited Carmi's Old Graveyard in June 2009 I was unable to locate Senator John McCracken Robinson's grave.
Later, upon acquiring the book "The Old Cemetery of Carmi, Illinois", by Claire Williams, I located Senator Robinson's grave as identified on Ms. WIlliams' maps. The Senator's monument appears to be missing; it should be located in the row in front of (east of) the Celtic Cross, slightly to the south -- approximately where the fallen branch lies in the top photo. In the second photo, I stood approximately at the location of Senator Robinson's grave while photographing the Hay monument.
