Mrs. Emma Gillett Oglesby (11 Feb 1845- 25 Nov 1928) was a member of the wealthy Gillett family - who constructed the chapel in Elkhart Cemetery and have a prominent plot nearby - and was wife to Governor Richard James Oglesby, and mother of Lieutenant Governor John G. Oglesby.
Mrs. Oglesby was a powerful figure in the upper class social life of Illinois, and a member of the board of directors of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago.
