In Memory of General Thomas Donovan (1783-1857), a companion of Old Hickory Jackson, he cast his fortune in the Indian Wars of the Middle-West. Protector of the Pioneers and a Friend of the Indians. Marked by L. of G.A.R. Circle No. 106.

The monument was placed by the Grand Army of the Republic.
