Szynkiewicz: Lithuanian National Cemetery

The Szynkiewicz tomb has two parts, greatly contrasting in styles.

The larger part is a grey granite mausoleum with three crypts, of a modern style. In front of it is a monument of much older style - a pair of tree stumps in limestone.

Even the name is different; the original name Szynkievicie on the limestone monument has been transliterated into a more Germanic form on the granite mausoleum as Szynkiewicz.

The "A. A." at the top of the inscription is a common abbreviation of "Amžiną Atilsį" -- "Rest in peace forever".
