Congressman Adolph J. Sabath

Adolph J. Sabath, a Jewish immigrant from Bohemia, worked his way through law school, held several city government positions, and was then elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1906. Sabath was elected to a total of twenty-three consecutive terms, the second-longest continuous service of any congressman.
