Bachelor's Grove Cemetery

Though the monuments have suffered little between 1996 and 2004, their environment has drastically changed. The weeds have grown unchecked; branches have fallen from trees and lie on the ground; and a tree has destroyed a large section of the western fence.

The shameful condition of Bachelor's Grove has served to reinforce the legends. This is the saddest, most neglected graveyard in all of Cook County, and its future is uncertain.
