Bachelor's Grove Cemetery

In 1999 the Patrick monument was moved about fifteen feet from its earlier position. Originally near McKee in the southeast quadrant, it has been moved northwest to an area south of the two bases near the Fulton monument.

I do not believe the monument was moved as part of an attempt to steal it - if that was the case it would have been moved southwest, toward the main gate, rather than northwest. It was moved in the general direction of the tear in the fence that leads to the pond, indicating that perhaps the vandals meant to submerge it. Fortunately, it was too heavy for their plan to succeed.
