From Jeff Duntemann: This is the headstone of Christian Duntemann and his wife Millizena Erdmann Duntemann, who emigrated from Schlarpe, Germany in 1847 with several small children. Three of their sons, Heinrich, Hermann, and Louis, are buried nearby, with their wives. The Duntemanns were prosperous farmers in the Bensenville and Des Plaines areas, and worked land that was later acquired for O'Hare Field. Many Duntemann descendants still live in the area, though some have dropped the second "n" from the end of the name. More Information: |
